Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A spokesman for the publisher stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was made after an review of reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at women.

The firm did not confirm the motivations for this action, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, having sold in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, encompassing a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
