FC Barcelona to Host First Game at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league two and a half years following their departure so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. When completed, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.

Barça organized a public practice on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
